Physician Spotlight with Isabella Church

Q: How did you make your first dollar?
IC: I was a lifeguard and swim instructor at my local YMCA.

Q: Beach or mountain vacation?
IC: Mountain, especially in the Winter because I love to ski!

Q: What book do you always recommend to people?
IC: Every Deep Drawn Breath by Dr. Wes Ely. A 10/10 read for anyone, but especially for those in healthcare!

Q: What is your most memorable memory at RISOPS?
IC: My most memorable experience with RISOPS is attending the 2025 NEROC conference. I had the opportunity to meet fellow osteopathic students, network with physicians practicing in the New England area, and attend workshops on student success. It was an invaluable experience for my educational and professional development, and I am already looking forward to next year’s meeting!

Q: What is your favorite part of RISOPS?
IC: The community! Students, residents, and physicians alike are very welcoming and eager to connect and offer support.

Q: Why is it important to you to be part of your state osteopathic medical association?
IC: I believe it is important to play an active role in building and contributing to one’s community and being a part of my state osteopathic medical association allows me to do just this. Being involved in RISOPS offers a way for me to become engaged in professional advocacy at an early stage in my career, network and find mentorship, and help build the culture I will be a part of as a future physician.
